Delaware Personal Injury Attorney Ben Schwartz describes for a viewer what he would consider being on his list of, “the weirdest injury claim”.
Hi, I’m Attorney Ben Schwartz,
Today we are going to answer a viewer question from Andrew who wrote in and essentially asked, “what is the weirdest injury claim that you have handled”? I’ll tell you; I don’t know that there are a lot of really weird injury claims that I personally have handled. You know, probably the weirdest is a case where my client was riding as a passenger in the front seat of a car, got hit from behind, her seat back broke. Her legs went up in the air and when her car hit an oncoming vehicle, her foot went out the windshield.
So, I sort of have this picture of my client with her foot sticking out the windshield. Luckily, she was not catastrophically injured or killed in this accident. It’s not really a laughing matter, the accident, but sort of having a picture of her with her foot sticking out the windshield is kind of interesting. There are some weird accident and injury claims out there.
For example, Johnson & Johnson manufactured a drug called Risperdal which caused men who took it or boys who took it to grow women’s breasts. Also, there is a very recent report of an accident where a woman got in a car accident, she crushed both of her legs got on some heavy-duty antibiotics and the antibiotics made her grow a black hairy coating on her tongue.
In fact, this is behind me you can see on my computer that I have got a Newsweek article up and the article is titled “Woman gets Weird Black Hairy Tongue after her Legs Were Crushed in a Car Crash”. So, there are some very strange injuries out there. Dealing with personal injury cases, we can run into them every once in a while. I guess my question for you is if you’ve been in an accident and you’ve had what you consider to be a weird injury, leave us a comment, or I know a lot of the folks watching these videos are insurance claims personnel, also personal injury attorneys and paralegals.
So, if you are handling personal injury cases or insurance claims, I would like to hear from you. Leave us a comment, tell us what is the weirdest thing that you have seen in terms of personal injury claims or personal injury cases. I’m attorney Ben Schwartz, it is an excellent question, thank you very much, Andrew, for the question. If you have a question for me, send me an email or you can leave a comment on this video.
Thanks for watching!
